Cedar Inn is beautifully located providing breathtaking views of the mountains. The interiors are wood panelled and the lighting is warm. Their hospitality is out of this world. Everything was handled so smoothly, we didn’t even have to ask.. The rooms are warm, clean and well-maintained and we could see Kanchenjunga from our room window. If you keep the curtains open at night, you may wake up in your bed looking at Kanchenjunga early morning. Another thing worth mentioning is the delicious food that was served to us with utmost care for our taste and preferences. What we loved most was the sense of warmth everywhere, even in the way the interiors were done, to the food and to the behaviour of the people...so warm and welcoming!

Words will fall short if I describe the view each of their rooms provide. The hotel’s architecture truly stands out, taking you back to the charm of the Victorian era. The rooms come with all the modern comforts, making your stay feel truly special. When the sky is clear you get a picturesque view of Kanchenjunga from your bed itself. The food here is amazing too. 5 star for the hospitality and management. Definitely coming back!

We spent two nights at this fantastic hotel. Even though it is an easy walk to the town centre, hotel offers transport service. The room was spacious, comfortable, and offered beautiful views of Kanchenjunga. We would especially like to highlight the quality of the food and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Even, when they knew that we were coming from Spain, they gave us a potato omelette at our last breakfast.

I had the a memorable stay at the Cedar Inn. It’s exactly how you’d picture spending time in Darjeeling. The rooms and interiors of the hotel are so comfortable, inviting, and tastefully decorated. There’s a lovely sunlit library, perfect for anyone looking to steal away a few quiet hours with a book. A cosy, elegant (but never pretentious), magical place with so much warmth protruding from the space, the lovely staff, and the truly hospitable management. The views from the rooms are breathtaking and their restaurant’s food and ambience is outstanding. They had soothing live piano every night during dinner. I thought the location of the hotel was also perfect, close enough to walk down to the mall road to explore, but away from everything hectic. I would recommend it to everyone who is visiting Darjeeling.

In my opinion, this hotel is very good with amazing views. All the staffs and people in charge are very friendly and caring. Rooms offer lovely views, along with heating, comfortable mattresses, and a comfortable living area. Many flowers decorate the entire hotel so the atmosphere is cool. The dining room is neatly set up, with a variety of dishes that can be tailored to guests’ tastes. Staying two nights was not enough, as there were many very interesting tourist places yet to be explored and the warmth of the hotel staff made us want to come back. For those visiting Darjeeling, I recommend booking a room here.

The Cedar Inn is more than a hotel, it is a place warm hospitality and respect for local culture come together. You can really feel that the place is run with a purpose, supporting the Buddhist community through its earnings. Breakfast and dinner buffet (with live piano music) are excellent. Hotel staff and management are very polite and helpful. The setting reflects a colonial style, staying true to Darjeeling’s heritage. It is the only hotel with colonial style in Darjeeling that has such fantastic view on the Kangchenjunga and such a quiet surrounding. The buddhist spirituality is reflected in several details, e.g. minor rituals and the decoration. We will come back to this hotel whenever we will go to Darjeeling.

Cedar Inn Darjeeling is a standout property. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, and the suites are well maintained, each offering a breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga. Waking up to that view is memorable. Meals are amazing. Breakfast is generous and diverse, while dinner features a well-curated menu with both local and international options. The kitchen team goes the extra mile to personalise meals, even preparing gajar halwa without nuts to meet dietary needs. The manager checked in daily, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. Transportation to and from town was arranged smoothly, and a sightseeing itinerary was tailored to our interests.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Cedar Inn, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable stays of my life. What started as a simple vacation took an unexpected turn when I fell ill during my visit. However, the way the staff cared for me during that time truly moved me. Their genuine concern, attentiveness, and kindness went far beyond what one would expect from a hotel stay, it felt like being looked after by family. The food was delicious and comforting, offering both variety and quality. Each meal was a delight, and I particularly appreciated the local flavours. The rooms were clean, cosy, and well-maintained, but what really stood out was the exceptional hospitality. The warmth and sincerity of the staff made a lasting impression. They truly understand the meaning of hospitality and go above and beyond to make guests feel cared for. Thank you, Cedar Inn, for turning what could have been a difficult time into a heartwarming experience. I can’t wait to return.

The heater and heated bed sheets make it warm and cosy during winters. The food was amazing. We got to try the local cuisine a bit every day. The staff is very warm and welcoming. All in all an amazing peaceful stay away from all the crowds.
